TEXAS INMATE FACEBOOK PROFILE DEACTIVATED
I recently created and have been monitoring a Facebook page for a friend incarcerated in Texas. Admittedly I was a bit hesitant at first but when I witnessed the flood of support and encouragement he received from HUNDREDS of friends, I truly felt good about it. The love he felt, the smiles it brought to his face and the sparkle in his eyes, made it worth the effort ! He, as with so many, made a "bad mistake" and is now paying for it with a strong sentence of some 20+ years. This experience, although shortlived, with his Facebook page, truly has given him a renewed hope and strength towards "tomorrow". I have to say, when his friends list hit over 500 within the first MONTH I was astounded, mind you, I searched for a few of his contacts and "got the ball rolling", but it was the friends of friends that continued to mount, I was astounded to say the least !!
Today I logged in to retrieve for him the new post and messages, and to my disappointment, learned the account had been deactived "for no reason" by Facebook.
If nothing else - I know he will be in receipt of some good ole United States postal service "SNAIL MAIL" from this point forward from countless friends and loved ones !!! I CONSIDER IT A SUCCESSFUL JOURNEY ♥
