You know I get that everyone has their own opinions on subjests but some people just dont think before speaking their minds. I mean seriously if you dont have all the facts of a situation or about someone than why are you going to bother opening your mouth? I mean all you are doing is making yourself sound like an idiot when you start speaking. Let me explain why I am going in to this little rant. I got in to an argument at work yesterday with a young lady that I "thought" was a good person, we were talking about how her brother was locked up for beating his ex girlfriend's husband to death for molesting her daughter. She said that as far as she was concerned he was dead to her and she wanted nothing to do with him because having a realtive in prison for murder was really embarrassing to her and her family. At first I couldnt help it I just stood there with a shocked look on my face, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I mean seriously someone touches my baby girl I would want revenge as well I mean that is my baby girl and it is my job to protect her. I finally got my tounge back and could speak and had to think for a moment before I spoke in order to not lose my temper. I looked her in the eye and told her she was a heartless b****, that this was a time in his life that he needed her the most and for her to turn her back on him just because he was in prison proved that she was an insult to mankind. I believe that depending on the circumstances of why the person is in prison and the story behind it should be learned and than a person should make a decision. I mean ok if a person is a serial killer or a child killer or a child molestor or rapist or some ting vile such as that ok then they deserve to be locked up and forgotten about never to see the light of day again they should not be put in protective custody they should be put in to general population and let the other inmates deal their own justice. But if a person is in prison because they killed their kid's attacker or they killed their step dad because he was beating their mother, or maybe they were a victim of abuse or rape and they couldnt handle it anymore and snapped should they be forgotten about? should they be ignored? should they be looked at as embarrassments to their loved ones? NO they should not, they may have made a bad decision that put them where they are and they are paying the consequences for that bad decision but should they really have to lose the people that are in their life that will help them pass the time and keep them sane? People that can be a goal for them to reach in order to stay out of trouble iwhile in prison in order to have something to go home to. If they have something or someone out there that they know is waiting for them or is going to be there for them when they are released to help them get their life finally straightened out than maybe we would not have so many people in prison. These people have made a bad choice and then they have to face losing their families and loved ones because they are seen as an embarrassment also. They really just want to give up because they have nothing else to lose so why bother. I like making people smile and i like being there for my friends when they need me, if they just need a shoulder to cry on, they need a hug, or they just want to go hang out some time i try to be there for them but I also expect the same for my friends i want my friends to extend the same courtesies to me as well. Needless to say after I made my point clear and told her what I thought of her and how she has treated her brother...well lets just say...we are no longer friends, which honestly i dont think i lost anything important so no big loss on my part :) I just dont think a person should be judged only on their past decisions, get the whole story, get to know them and why they did what they did, why they made the choice or choices they made and than make a decision but only after you have all the facts.
